Zainab Longwe
Chief Operations Officer
Ms. Zainab Longwe brings more than 10 years of experience in leadership, management, finance, and administration. She is the Chief Operations Officer (COO) at TRUE and is responsible for the overall administrative functions and operations of the organization. Zainab joined TRUE in 2014 where she was appointed the Program Manager for TRUE. Her role is to provide managerial and administrative oversight for the implementation of health research by ensuring that TRUE has sound, efficient, and effective people, operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures in place. Under her leadership, she has successfully managed to provide administrative oversight to more than seven research studies and ensured that researchers fulfilled their intended objectives within the specified period and budget.
Zainab has a Bachelor of Social Science degree from the University of Malawi, Chancellor College. She has two Master’s Degrees; in Sociology from the University of Malawi and in Project Management from Bolton University.
She was previously the first female Finance and Administration Officer at an international organization called IR Malawi. Zainab also serves as the Board Secretary for TRUE Board of Directors.
