Dr. Nomsa Phiri
Study Coordinator – CHEMCHA
Nomsa Phiri is a medical doctor registered under the Medical Council of Malawi. She is currently the study coordinator of a paediatric clinical trial titled Dihydroarteminisin Piperaquinine or Sulphadoxine -Pryimethamine for the Chemoprevention of Malaria in Children with Sickle Cell Anaemia in Eastern and Southern Africa (CHEMCHA). She graduated from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine (COM) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree. Dr Nomsa Phiri completed an internship training at Queens Elizabeth central Hospital where her interest in research began. She previously worked as a study coordinator and study physician for a pharmaco-kinetic clinical trial. In addition, she has had experiences working in the private sector as a general practitioner in various institutions as well as voluntary work in disaster relief programs.
